PAMEA Joins China-CEEC Digital Agriculture Innovation Platform at Sofia Initiative on AI in Agriculture

From June 24th to 27th, PAMEA had the honour of joining the CHINA-CEEC Modern Agriculture Science and Education Innovation Alliance in Sofia, Bulgaria. This year’s event was especially notable for the launch of a new initiative: the Sofia Initiative on Promoting Agricultural Science and Technology Education through Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Driving the Future of Agriculture with AI

This initiative brings together China and Central & Eastern European countries to integrate AI into agriculture and education. The focus:

• Advancing AI-driven farming methods and academic disciplines

• Creating practice platforms for AI and agricultural education

• Supporting the AI-era skills of educators and students

• Enabling agricultural data sharing through AI

• Strengthening international cooperation in both AI and agricultural education

“Let us focus on three core goals – technological empowerment, educational innovation, and resource sharing – to promote AI applications in agriculture, build an ‘AI + Agriculture’ educational system, and make agricultural data, AI tools, and teaching resources more inclusive,” stated the alliance.

We are proud to share that PAMEA was officially invited to join the China-CEEC Digital Agriculture Innovation Platform (DAIP). The launch was marked by a symbolic silk ribbon cutting ceremony – an inspiring moment that set the tone for ambitious goals ahead.

This alliance is about more than just technology – it’s about building a bridge between agricultural research, real-world industry needs, and modern educational resources from both China and the CEEC region. The aim is to combine our complementary strengths and move towards smarter, more sustainable, and digitized agricultural systems.

PAMEA’s Contribution

PAMEA is proud to be invited as a partner of this platform, where we’ll contribute our expertise in digital transformation, sustainability education, and innovation management. By working together, we can help bring smarter, greener, and more inclusive solutions to agriculture – locally and internationally.

As part of this effort, PAMEA is committed to connecting research, real-world applications, and educational opportunities.
